Pen Pal

A Kindle with superpowers.

I love Hermes, a personal assistant you can mold however you want. I also had a Kindle Scribe I barely used. So I put the two together.

I worked a little magic on my Kindle, and now my notebook runs my day. It opens on today's meetings and to-dos, turns what I write into tasks, remembers every page, and writes back when I ask it something.

What it's made ofYou only ever see the top layer

  1. 1The page you write onwhat you see
  2. 2Reads your handwriting
  3. 3Hermes, the assistant, answers

What it does

  • Write a question by hand, tap the star, and the answer is written on the same page.
  • Open it and today's meetings and to-dos are already there, with a short note about the day.
  • Every meeting and task gets its own page, with prep notes waiting at the top.
  • Draw a box next to a line and it becomes a task in my to-do app.
  • Tick a task on the page and it's ticked in my to-do app too.
  • Tasks I don't finish carry over to the next day, and big ones get broken into steps.
  • Every page is backed up, so it can answer from my own earlier notes and point me back to the page.
  • If the wifi drops, the question waits and goes out when the connection is back.
